About

The department of Commerce has been functioning since the inception of the college in the year 1981. This department was given affiliation by the Osmania University in the same academic year along with the BA, BCom (Gen ) Courses. Presently the department is affiliated with the Palamuru University .

      There was only one post at the inception of the Department ,but in later years the no. of posts enhanced up to six as the new courses added in college with new combinations.

      The department has been sharing  the responsibility along with the other departments in providing the quality  education to the economically and socially backward girl students who join in this college and  also striving hard to transform them into a completely developed educated women who can face the present age challenges. 

Objectives

Commerce is that part of business which is concerned with the exchange of goods and services and includes all those activities which directly or indirectly facilitate that exchange.

                       India was called a GOLDEN BIRD in ancient times ,because it had over all prosperity and foreign countries wants trade with India. “The wants and desires of Human beings are never ending.”  They are 'Basic wants and desires ' and 'Secondary wants and desires . The Commerce accomplishes these wants and desire of Human beings through trade and commerce . The constantly changing  likes, dislikes and requirements  of the consumers are informed to the producers time to time by the marketing People .Commerce establish the link between producers and consumers through retailers and wholesalers, and also  made distribution and movement of goods possible from one part of the world to the other. Now the growth of commerce and trade is considered as the yardstick of economic growth of the country .

                     In this scenario the main objective of the department is to produce a knowledgeable and skillful commerce graduates who can easily grab the jobs  in the various sectors such as banking, communication, advertising & publicity, transport, insurance, manufacturing companies, marketing and what not.
